Following up the release of his self-named 2007 debut album, Jody Lee Petty is poised for bigger things with his sophomore album Ain't Been Myself. Jody asserts himself as an increasingly good songwriter and charismatic performer, his songs drawing on stalwart country themes and imagery such as trains ("Southbound Train"), trucks ("Ridin' Dirty" and "Big Ol Sexy Truck"), the south ("Roll on Dixie" and "Wake Me in Carolina") women ("Down Home Lovin'" and "My Kind of Lady") and God ("A Country Song and A Bible Verse").
